Block Snowman-DIY

While searching around the internet some place I noticed this little block snowman, though mine is a little different as I always have to change things up.  :-)

It is a very simple little DIY so lets get started......

Just start with 3 different pieces of wood, I used pine but you can use what ever you would like. Also what ever size you would like just taper off the 2 top blocks as you would like.

Just glue up the 3 blocks and let dry according to your glue directions, I used Elmers Glue which takes 35 mins to set.

I painted mine white with some acrylic craft paint, you could use what ever you have on hand. I did not prime the wood first as I wanted it to not be totally white but a slight bit worn looking.

For the buttons and eyes I used a black sharpie, I was going to use the craft paint for the carrot nose but then I remembered I had a orange colored sharpie knockoff so that worked so much better.

I added some accents to the carrot nose with a pencil just in case I did not like it but it came out good.  Another idea for the eye would be those giggly eyes, the kids might enjoy those.

I added a scrap piece of red cotton for the scarf, I would of loved a plaid but I did not have any scraps on hand.

Now he is ready to watch over what ever you might need him to. :-)

Well this was a fun little DIY but I just love how BASIC he is, I guess you could add a hat and some stick arms if you would like, have fun with it and enjoy.

Have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by...

What are you up to lately?

  10. That's SO cute. My niece loves snowmen, so I'm going to have to make one of these for her. I can't draw worth a hoot, but I think I can manage to draw that nose. At least I'm gonna try!
